Hello,
Im 16 years old, live in Kent and have been drumming for about 10 years. I try to play whenever I have free time, normally about an hour a day.
In holidays, play for the Kent Youth Wind Orchestra which is good fun and great for my percussive skills which I try to keep up as much as possible.
Currently I am entering Young Drummer Of The Year, see the website http://www.youngdrummeroftheyear.co.uk. I have just recorded my solo using the magnificent equipment at my school which has a heavy musical bias. I will put up the link to the solo on youtube when I put it up.

I currently have a mapex venus, which has now been discontinued.I have had it for about 6 or 7 years so am really looking for a replacement. Hopefully a Sonor delite or SQ2 as have tried DW etc but think Sonor have the sweetest sound. Its just a question of cash!

My first real influence was Steve Gadd, I was obsessed by some of his smoother tracks and any videos I could find on the internet. I think every drummer is influenced by Gadd to some extent,he is the master of groove.
Also Dave Wekyl for his amazing musicality and control and Jojo Mayer for his ripping techique
More recently Benny Greb has been my main influence, with his new album Grebfuit, I managed to see him at a Drumfest and he rocked my socks off so to speak.

I'm not in a band as such as I go to school in Somerset but live in Kent. However when I am home I occasionly play for bands such as The Forgotten UK, (search on myspace for the page) or whoever else is around really. At school, just play with general bands, the Swing Band and various Who, Queen, Arctic monkeys covers :).
